RE Meta's new hateful conduct policies

The fact that one of the biggest companies in the world is willing to brazenly and publicly throw us under the bus like this is not good. Add Twitter (stupidly known as X) to this mess and three of the most important social media platforms (and also Threads) explicitly do not care about trans people.

Trump is coming into office. I think it’s likely that all gender affirming care for minors is going to be illegal soon. And even though I am an adult, I am concerned about my continued ability to access the care that I need. Even if trans healthcare isn’t made illegal, I’m still scared that my health insurance (or my employer) will take this opportunity to save some money by getting rid of gender affirming care.

People are going to die because of this. Kids will kill themselves. We will be physically attacked by people who see these things as public endorsements.

Here’s the thing:

Trans people are real, we’re naturally occurring, we’ve been around since the beginning; you can look it up. You could kill us all and we’d sprout back up, gender nonconforming genitalia flouncing in the wind. You could erase our history, and we’d make it again, (it’s happened before). We’ll chop off our tits in back alleys and synthesize estrogen from horse piss if we need to. You can’t get rid of us any more than you can get rid of gay people, or disabled people, or death or taxes. We’re a fact of life.

So have fun killing us till the end of humanity I guess? I personally don’t see the appeal of making other people suffer, but what do I know. I hope you have the day you deserve. I hope my blood stays under your fingernails forever.
